Factory Locations

Lupin’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is deeply rooted in its core values, reflecting a dedication to promoting sustainable and ethical business practices. We recognize the importance of integrating CSR into our factory locations, understanding that this approach goes beyond immediate needs and contributes to the long-term well-being of employees and the local communities.

CSR is crucial for fostering sustainable and ethical business practices, ensuring that our operations have a positive impact on both the environment and society. This includes providing emergency assistance during crises and supporting employees facing personal challenges.

Our efforts extend beyond immediate needs to foster long-term sustainable development. We are committed to investing in the livelihoods and well-being of the surrounding community aiming to build stronger relationships. This helps contribute positively to the social fabric of the regions where we operate. These initiatives focus on empowering the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. This involves supporting them with basic infrastructure and establishing a balanced ecological base.

Respiratory and Cardiovascular Challenges

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) ranks as the third leading cause of global mortality, resulting in 3.23 million deaths in 2019 (World Health Organization: WHO & World Health Organization: WHO, 2023). In India, COPD contributes to more than 50% of the chronic respiratory disease burden. This high prevalence can be linked to underdiagnosis in respiratory conditions, primarily due to the prohibitive cost and inefficiency of diagnostic equipment such as spirometers.

The incidence of heart disease and stroke has also surged by more than 50% from 1990 to 2016, showing an upward trend in every state. Collectively, they constituted 28% of all deaths in India in 2016. Despite notable strides in preventing and treating cardiovascular disease, there is a pressing need for improvement throughout India, particularly in regions where the disease burden is increasing at the fastest rate.

Our Approach

The LIVES program strategically addresses the growing challenges presented by Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a primary focus on enhancing screening, treatment, awareness, and comprehensive management of specific conditions. These conditions encompass CardioVascular Diseases (CVD), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, and hypertension in the specified regions of Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
To accomplish this overarching goal, the initiative involves implementing robust measures for early detection and screening of these NCDs, ensuring timely and effective treatment interventions.
The LIVES program places a strong emphasis on establishing an integrated management framework that encompasses not only medical interventions but also lifestyle modifications and ongoing support systems. Through this multifaceted approach, the program aims to significantly alleviate the burden of NCDs and enhance the overall health and well-being of the communities in Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
