Empowering Rural Prosperity

Agriculture is the main occupation in rural India and addressing stagnation in this sector is crucial for growth. Farmers encounter challenges like low productivity, insufficient working capital, outdated technologies, and a lack of supportive institutions. To tackle these, our strategies include enhancing productivity through technology transfer, crop diversification, and establishing credible farmer organizations.

Additionally, recognizing the significance of livestock for landless farmers, LHWRF intervenes in this sector to enhance productivity through breed improvement, capacity building, technology transfer, and promoting livestock diversification and value chain development, providing a steady year-round income and acting as a risk management strategy.

Our Approach

The program focuses on sustainable productivity enhancement through protective cultivation, seed distribution, and advanced technology training. It emphasizes integrated nutrient and pest management, agricultural micro models, and the efficient distribution of equipment. Collaboration with agriculture universities and departments follows a lab-to-land approach. Simultaneously, under Animal Husbandry, LHWRF employs measures like improving breed quality through insemination services, promoting small-scale goat, sheep, and poultry farming for enhanced income and nutrition, and emphasizing sweet water fisheries, dairies, and fodder development. Quality animal health services and farmer training round out the comprehensive approach for livestock management and agricultural sustainability.

The sale of male goats facilitated essential home repairs, and other tips helped save enough income, enabling Shakun’s children to attend school regularly.

The assistance extended beyond agriculture, empowering Shakun’s family to diversify crops, invest in sustainable farming practices, and significantly increase their annual income to Rs. 1,35,000.
